Aarvika Gupta: Being the eldest in the family is both a responsibility and a source of pride

Actress Aarvika Gupta, who is currently seen in web series Chidiya Udd on Prime, is the eldest in her family. She says that this has some perks and some responsibilities as well.

“Being the eldest in the family is both a responsibility and a source of pride, especially when I have two talented younger brothers. Both Prajwal and Ayush are unique in their respective fields, and both began their professional journeys at a young age. I didn’t have to put in much effort to guide them, as they were already so driven. Ayush is on his spiritual path, and I often seek advice from him. Prajwal, who initially wanted to pursue a career in defence, has evolved into a writer. He started with comedy writing and has now ventured into emotional dimensions, even writing a non-fiction English novel at a young age. As an elder sister, I mostly act as a bridge between them, as both brothers often share their special moments with me. We have a strong bond, and I feel incredibly proud of both of them,” she says.

Talking about how she and her siblings chose different paths in life, she says, “Prajwal has always had a creative side, even when he was young. He wanted to join the defence forces, but he also enjoyed writing funny stories and emotional pieces. I once found his notebook filled with rap lyrics and stories when he was in the 6th grade, showing his creative spark early on. When he came to Mumbai for further studies, he was fortunate to get his first writing work in comedy with Optimistix Productions for Comedy Circus. Prajwal credits me for encouraging him to come to Mumbai, saying that if I hadn’t come here, he wouldn’t have had the chance. Now, we are even writing a few projects together.”

She adds, “Similarly, Ayush and I work together in our organization, Anannt Oorja Safar. We support each other in our endeavors. There are times when I feel weak, but both Prajwal and Ayush become my strength and light my way forward.”

As for her parents’ reaction to her profession, she says, “My parents are incredibly supportive. They always tell us, “You all have great wisdom and our blessings. Go and win; we are with you.” When I expressed my desire to pursue acting a few years ago, my father said, “Life is yours. If you want to explore, then definitely do it.” Their belief in us gives us the courage to follow our dreams.”
