Ajay devgn’s ‘maidan’ gets a release date on 13th august 2021 Featured News by Dhirasri Devi Choudhury - July 4, 2020July 4, 20200 Ajay Devgn announced the release date for his forthcoming film ‘Maidaan’on Saturday. The film, which was scheduled to hit the screens on December 11, 2020, is now hit the theater on August 13th, 2021. Ajay Devgn shared a poster of the film on social media, tweeting “2021 Independence week. An untold story that will make every Indian proud. August 13, mark the date.” Directed by Amit Ravindrenath Sharma, ‘Maidaan’ is a biographical sports drama inspired by the Indian national football team coach and manager Syed Abdul Rahim, who is regarded as the architect of Indian football. Basically a teacher by profession, he was a good motivator and his tenure as a coach is regarded as a “golden age” of football in India. He led the Indian team to the semi-finals of the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Football tournament making India the first-ever Asian country to achieve this place. The film has been co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah respectively Earlier this year, Ajay shared the first look of the film and he wrote: “Yeh kahaani hai Indian football ke golden phase ki aur uske sabse badey aur successful coach ki” Besides Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and well known Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh and it will also release in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
