Saumitra Singh, the Youngest Best Aspiring Director of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award 2019 for his Short Film, ‘the Wallet’starring Naseeruddin Shah and Navni Parihar, has been fortunate to have a few things that he is grateful about in this particular year. Along with Directing the first film, ‘Taxi Number 24’, starring Mahesh Manjrekar, Jagjeet Sandhu and Anagsha Biswas, to be completed from pre to post immediately after the lockdown and having his Short Film, which he likes to call, Poetic Short Film, ‘Darwaza’ being released on 25th December 2020.He has been blessed to achieve the Mumbai Achievers most Inspiring Director award for his Short Film, ‘the Wallet’, starring Naseeruddin Shah and Navni Parihar. Saumitra is quite commonly and correctly known as ‘the Wallet’ fame, since other than these two extremely prestigious awards, his film has been awarded with several other National and International awards, and the count of these is beyond 75.
