In honor of the centenary year of Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Jayanti, BJP North Mumbai and Poinsur Gymkhana proudly organized the Atal Khel Mahotsav from 25th to 29th December 2024 at Pramod Mahajan Kridangan. This vibrant event was organized by Hon. Minister of Commerce Shri Piyush Goyal ji and conceptualized by former MP & Janasevak Shri Gopal Shetty ji.

### Event Highlights:

Sports Competitions:
– Open Overarm Cricket (32 Teams)
– Box Cricket (32 Male & 8 Female Teams)
– Kabaddi (12 Teams each for Boys “A,” Boys “B,” & Women)
– Blood Donation Camps (Approx. 1000 bottles)

A remarkable total of around 1250 participants showcased incredible talent and sportsmanship at this Khel Mahotsav. The enthusiasm and spirit of the players added vibrancy to the Mahotsav, bringing together people from various backgrounds and fostering a sense of community.

Prizes:
The total prize money distributed at this event was around Rs. 3.50 lakh, along with trophies. Additionally, individual cash prizes and trophies were awarded to the 3rd & 4th placed teams (losers of the semi-finals) and outstanding performers in each event.

Moreover, approximately Rs. 4.0 lakhs (Rs. 500/- for each player, per match) were paid as remuneration to all Kabaddi players.

Cultural Finale:
The festival beautifully concluded with a music and dance program by senior citizens, showcasing their talents and enriching the cultural aspect of the Mahotsav. This segment entertained and celebrated the invaluable contributions of our senior community members. Senior citizens and commentators like Shri Nishad Kora, Shri Raju Kule, Shri Haresh Pandya, and Shri Dhananjay Kulkarni were honored for their support in promoting sports, particularly Cricket & Kabaddi in Mumbai North.

We take pride in reporting that all games and activities were conducted successfully, embodying the spirit of unity, celebration, and sportsmanship that Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee stood for.

During this event, our former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji passed away. All participants paid tribute to the departed soul.
