Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Payal Ghosh relives her favourite childhood memories of the festival Featured Funtainment by Akanksha - September 22, 20230 Payal Ghosh is currently in the news and limelight for her wonderful appearance in the movie Fire Of Love: Red. The movie released earlier last month and her performance alongside ace comedian Krushna Abhishek was appreciated to a great extent. The way Payal showcased different layers in her performance and managed to portray different sorts of emotions with perfection was adored by many who saw the film. As much as she is connected to her work and has her focus in the right place, she’s also spiritual and religious. She’s the perfect example of a modern-day diva with traditional values and we love it. She’s always been high-spirited during any religious festival and this time as well, during Ganesh Chaturthi, it is no different. Ever since she came to Mumbai to become an actress, the majority of her Ganesh Chaturthi festivals have been celebrated in Mumbai. However, during her childhood days in Kolkata as well, it was no different for her. Remembering some of her most favourite childhood memories from Ganesh Chaturthi festival, she said, “For me, Ganesh Chaturthi has always been very special and heartfelt. In Kolkata, the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi aren’t similar to that of Maharashtra. One can say that the scale of Durga Puja in Kolkata is similar to the scale of Ganesh festival in Mumbai. During Durga Puja itself, we also worship Ganpati Bappa. However, I have always felt connected to Bappa. There’s a saying that if you don’t begin your Puja with Bappa, other Gods won’t accept your Puja. So, he’s everyone’s favourite. I used to ask my family to take me out at that time and I used to be happy seeing whatever little bit of pandals I saw in Kolkata of Ganpati Bappa. He is the almighty and I feel a great connection with him. I just hope that he blesses all of us nicely so that the world can be a better place to live in. I also want to thank him for making me who I am today. There’s of course a long way to go. However, I have gratitude for whatever I have got so far. Wishing everyone a very Happy Ganesh Chaturthi 2023.” On the work front, Payal Ghosh will have announcements happening soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
