Breaking News. Govinda’s secretary Shashi Prabhu passed away today at 4 pm at his residence Niranjan Society, Chikuwadi, Borivali West.  Govinda has reached his home to console the family members and he is crying.  Funeral may take place at 10 pm today. Om shanti.

The photo posted above is the photo of Shashi Prabhu who passed away yesterday. His real name is Pandurang. In fact two Shashis played a very important role in Govinda’s life. Shashi Prabhu and Shashi Sinha. Well, Shashi Sinha is the brother of producer Vinay Sinha who produced Andaz Apna Apna while Shashi Prabhu was one time next door to the neighbour of Govinda in Virar. When Govinda started climbing the stairs of success he needed a close aide and Shashi Prabhu filled the place.                        

In the beginning Shashi Prabhu used to look after the work of Govinda but later Shashi Sinha became his secretary and Shashi Prabhu remained Chichi’s close aide. When Shashi Prabhu got married Govinda especially attended the marriage as he knew the bride Suvarna too very well. It was the love marriage and like Govinda, Suvarna too was the next door neighbour at Virar. Learning the ropes of film making Shashi Prabhu decided to produce the film and the hero was of course Govinda and the heroine was Madhuvanti Patwardhan, sister of Bhagyashree and the film was “Do Aankhen Barah Haath”. The film was not successful at the box office and then Shashi Prabhu distanced himself away from the film making.

Just four days ago he had undergone bypass surgery but alas, the surgery couldn’t give him a longer life. Govinda used to call him as his third brother and in the drawing room of Shashi Prabhu there is a photo in which Nirmala Devi (Govinda’s mother)is on the chair and behind her are Shashi Prabhu in centre and Govinda and Kirti Kumar to his left and right. This photo is enough proof of how big the loss Govinda has suffered by the untimely departure of Shashi Prabhu.
