I had complete faith in Kangana’s direction: Zeeshan Ayyub Featured Interviews by Akshay Patil - December 13, 2018December 14, 20180 I had complete faith in Kangana’s direction: Zeeshan Ayyub Zeeshan Ayyub who was much appreciated for his role in the movie Raees will be soon seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Talking about his entire experience of working under the reigning queen of Bollywood Kangana, Zeeshan says, “I think Kangana did a good job. The shooting went really smooth. I enjoyed working with her.” Speak about his role he says, “I did not have to prepare much for the role as I am from NSD (National School of Drama) and have been a part of historical plays. I learnt horse riding for this film. It was quite a quick session where they taught me how to manoeuvre a horse. Here I was just following Kangana’s directions. Her idea was that my character comes across as a normal man and not someone from a particular period.” The film tells the entire story and describes the life of India’s most fierce warrior queen Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Zeeshan has shot for his part of the film in a span of six days at ND Studio, Karjat near Mumbai. The film also marks the big transition and Bollywood debut of TV sensation Ankita Lokhande who will be seen portraying the character of JhalkariBai who is queen’s closest aide and confidant in the film. Atul Kulkarni plays Tatya Tope in the film while Suresh Oberoi will be seen as Bajirao 2 among others. The film is scheduled to release on January 25th 2019 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.
