Kalpana Patowary, from Assam, coming in for our next ArtfulPeace Cumulative session, is someone who has dedicated her life to folk music, bringing in a contemporary and commercial approach to this genre. Having sung in over 30 languages, she has marked her significance in the Indian Music Industry and at International platforms.

Kalpana Patowary is the first singer who has successfully brought the Khadi Birha tradition of Bhojpuri folk into international platforms. With many unconventional and experimental approaches in Purvi, Xatriya, Hindustani Classical, and Assamese Kamrupia – Goalporia folk, to name a few: She has also worked with the likes of Coke Studio, Aakrosh, Mirch and many more.
