Manas Shah talks about his character in the Gujarati movie Shortcut Padyo Longcut

Actor Manas Shah will soon be seen in the Gujarati movie Shortcut Padyo Longcut, and he shared that though his character’s name in the movie is Manas, it is very different from him personality-wise. He said, “My character’s journey has two sides. One is his relationship with his parents and the equation he shares with them, and the other is his love life. In the movie, Manas behaves quite immaturely. He makes all his decisions based on emotions, which is not the right approach.”

“In real life, however, I am quite mature and never make impulsive decisions. But in the film, Manas makes rushed choices, which lead to problems in his life. When it comes to love, though, there is a similarity between reel and real life. In both, if Manas makes a commitment to someone, he stays true to it. Similarly, in real life, if I commit to someone, I will stand by them through every moment. I will take responsibility for my life partner’s happiness and will always support them in every situation. So, while the love life aspect of Manas is quite similar to mine, otherwise, our personalities are quite different,” he added.

Talking about the movie’s name, Shortcut Padyo Longcut, which was shot in Ahmedabad, Jaisalmer, Serbia (Belgrade), and Dubai, he said that it means that sometimes when we try to take a shortcut, we end up getting stuck and are eventually forced to take the long route. He added, “This movie revolves around the same idea. The core message of the film is that no matter how hard we try, shortcuts usually lead to problems in the future.”

He further said, “On the other hand, a long route might seem tough in the beginning, but it ensures a more stable and successful journey. A shortcut may make success appear closer, but in the long run, it often leads to failure.”

For him, the most challenging part of the role was when his character saw Alisha (mention who she is) getting tortured in the jail. He said, “The guilt of putting her in danger completely breaks him. His once cheerful personality vanishes, and he realises his mistake. This scene was very intense, and even the film crew appreciated my performance.”

“Another powerful moment was when Manas finally rescues Alisha and vows never to let anything separate them again,” he added.

Manas is looking forward to making his OTT debut with Burari Revisited, which is based on the Burari murder case.

“Most of the series made on this case so far have only focused on what happened at that time. However, this series goes beyond that; it explores what happened after the bodies were discovered. It covers the entire process of investigation, questioning, legal developments, and the final verdict, presenting the case in a fresh way.In this series, I am playing the role of a paranormal activist, which was an amazing experience for me. By the time the series releases, its official streaming date will probably be announced,” he said.

“Meanwhile, I might also complete the shoot for another Gujarati film, which is likely to be filmed in Birmingham. As for TV, it was my first love, and it will always remain special to me. If a good TV project comes my way, I’ll consider it. Otherwise, I’ll continue with films. Whatever happens, I trust that God has the best plans for me,” he concluded.
