Nawazuddin Siddiqui turns emotional while rehearsing a scene for No Land’s Man on the account of his sister’s death, director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki pens a letter

It has been recently learnt that actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is currently shooting for National Award winner director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki in New York has lost his sister Saima who was fighting with cancer since quite sometime.

Amidst all this, the actor left no stone unturned in his shooting schedule as his sheer dedication and commitment towards any project is much known to his fans and the industry too.

It all started when he turned emotional while rehearsing a scene for No Land’s Man after knowing her sister’s death but he held himself so well and continued shooting.

Seeing his professionalism, director Mostafa Sarwar Farooki penned down an emotional note on his FB that reads:

“Life of an artist! While rehearsing a scene from No Land’s Man, Nawazuddin Siddiqui became slightly emotional but, since he is extremely professional, he quickly regained his composure. Later on I came to know the reason. The scene I mentioned was between him and his sister whose reel name was Saima. He asked me if I knew his sister’s name is Saima too. I answered negative as my script was written five years ago and I had no idea about his sister. He then told me his sister Saima has been suffering from cancer for eight years and he has been trying everything he could to help her in this battle. So whenever he had scenes with Saima, he was feeling extremely emotional.

I didn’t know how to respond to this strange connection. I forgot this quickly as I had other things to deal with. Two days ago, while we were shooting a scene, he received a call. We had no idea what was going on. He completed the scene brilliantly. After we packed up, I came to know he lost his sister while we were shooting that scene.

I have recently developed some idea about this man’s attachment to his family. As someone who is strongly connected to the family, I could completely understand how he was feeling. I didn’t know how to deal with this situation. But he knew.

While coordinating everything back home, he continued his shoot and made sure our New York shoot is completed.

He will fly home today. Maybe he will be standing silently in front of her grave. Maybe they will speak thousand words in silence. Maybe fiction and reality will merge into each other. #nolandsmanfilm.”

Besides this, not many of us know that Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s 9-year-old daughter Shora Siddiqui recently celebrated her birthday with cancer patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. From the last three years, she has been celebrating her birthday by doing the needful to the unprivileged children. She helps the kids who are fighting cancer and educating the poor kids on the streets.

The actor’s wife Aaliya Siddiqui recently shared a glimpse of Shora’s social services on her Instagram.
