Urmila is flooded with offers from various Regional Industry and the actor is all set for her Assamese film “Across The Paddy Fields” by Manjori Borkotoky, a debutant female director from Assam. Mahurat Ceremony of the upcoming Feature Film, “Across The Paddy Fields,” will be held at 3:30 pm at Culina-The Kitchen on November 26, Monday. The script is pen down by Anuraag Baruah. RB Production’s “Across The Paddy Fields” is the story of a young woman Palkee Kashyap’s journey seeking information about her dead insurgent father. Palkee’s character is being portrayed by Urmila Mahanta who is quite impressed with her life’s journey. The story takes us back to the dreaded ’90s when insurgency was at its peak in Assam. Veterans Assamese actor Bishnu Kharghoria as well as theatre personality Jyoti Narayan Nath are playing pivotal roles in the movie. The film will also touch on the media industry in the region especially in the backdrop of insurgency and a crucial role is being played by Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika of “Damini” fame. Urmila was recently seen in Papon’s (Angarag Mahanta) song “Mongeet” a prayer together for a better tomorrow, released on Children Day – November 14. Urmila is seen as the mother in the song and it is winning heart across. Meanwhile her last Bollywood release “Padman” is all set for its release in China. Urmila is excited being going global!
