Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse Carry forward “Swachchata Abiyaan” as Ambassadors in parts of Mumbai

Bollywood’s couple Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse are part of the initiative in their city.Mumbai, from areas Mira road to Bhayander. As ambassadors, the couple have not only been participating in clean up drives along the city beaches and various tourist spots, they have also encouraged locals to take steps forward for maintaining hygiene around the streets and public places.

Indian Swachhata League’, an inter-city competition with the spirit of cleanliness and resolve towards ensuring garbage-free beaches, hills and tourist places in the country, started on Saturday 17th September, marking the Prime Minister’s birthday. The initiative will run until Mahatma Gandhi jayanti. Many volunteers and representatives from parts of the country and various cities have risen and come forward to boost the drive.The Indian Swachhata League kick starts the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav, a fortnight of activities to galvanize action around swachhata from 17th Sept. 2022, Seva Diwas, till 2nd Oct. 2022, Gandhi Jayanti. The first edition of the ISL witnessed a record with more than half a million youth joining hands for clean beaches, hills and tourist spots

Speaking about the initiative, Rahul and Mugdha opened up, “We are privileged to help the country and the PM in this very noble ambition of cleaning and thus beautifying it. We’ve been closely working along with Govt Commissioner Sri Dilip Dhole’ and the MCBC. We were also very impressed by just how many people are volunteering and taking part. The youth is truly motivated and only need a push sometimes and this initiative is surely bringing those energies together to apply to a greater cause. Awareness starts by picking up a broom and not a mic and we can only hope that we can make a difference for our community. “
