Shivangi Verma on being part of Badass Ravi Kumar: “The audience response has been incredible!”

Actress Shivangi Verma, who shares the screen with Prabhu Deva in a cameo role in Badass Ravi Kumar, says she loved being part of the project. She adds that while her role is small, she cherishes the experience of working alongside Prabhu Deva. “I am opposite Prabhu Deva, playing his girlfriend. It’s a tiny role, but I said yes to it because it was a Himesh Reshammiya project, and this is my second collaboration with him,” she says. My scene was shot in Muscat, Oman, and is being loved by the audience. “The film has finally hit the screens, and the audience response has been incredible! Honestly, the only reason I said yes to this film was Himesh Reshammiya. I’ve always been a fan of his, and this being my second project with him makes it even more special. The energy, vision, and passion he brings to every project are simply unmatched! What makes this film even closer to my heart is that the song I did with Himesh, ‘Tere Pyar Mein,’ from Suroor 2021, is featured in this movie as well! The only twist? This time, he’s performing it with another heroine! But the magic of the song remains the same, and I know the audience is going to go WOW when they experience it on the big screen. Badass Ravi Kumar is everything you expect from a Himesh Reshammiya film—high-energy, super entertaining, full of life, and packed with knowledge! With his vision, nothing can go wrong. The audience is in for a ride they’ll never forget!” she says. She adds, “The entire journey from Mumbai to Muscat for my shoot was incredibly smooth and effortless. From day one, everything felt familiar and comfortable. My first day was all about the costume trial, and to my delight, the team was the same as my first album with Himesh Reshammiya. Seeing familiar faces instantly made me feel at home, and I knew this was going to be a special experience. The next day, when I stepped onto the set, I saw Prabhu Deva, and what a moment that was! Despite being such a legend, he was unbelievably friendly and down-to-earth. There was not a hint of attitude—just pure passion for the craft. And, of course, working with Himesh Reshammiya again was nothing short of amazing. His energy, dedication, and vision make every project larger than life. One person I can’t forget to mention is Sonia ma’am—Himesh Reshammiya’s wife—someone I truly admire. I always say this to her, and I’ll say it again: her presence makes everything feel even more special. When I rehearsed my shot, everything just clicked. And when the cameras rolled, it was a one-take shot! Everyone loved it and appreciated it.” Ask her what the most exciting part of the movie was, and she says, “For me, the most exciting part was my scene, of course, because I was in a harness and had to jump from a bike. There were dialogues and a panic situation, and then—cut to—I jumped from a mountain! I mean, of course, as per the script, I was made to jump. It was such an interesting experience. I’ve never performed something like this before, and when I saw myself on screen, I got goosebumps.” Talking about her upcoming projects, she says, “I’m already shooting for another film. This one is opposite veteran actor Govind Namdev, Sir, and I’m just about to finish my third schedule. Fingers crossed—hoping for the best. God is kind.”
