Once again the season of festivities is arriving soon, bearing the promise of something truly remarkable. National Award-winning actor and Bengali cinema icon Rituparna Sengupta is set to lead the Mumbai Bengali Cultural Association (MBCA) in organizing this year’s Durga Puja celebration, which singer Kumar Sanu led for the last two years. ‘ MBCA Durga Puja & India Festival 2024′ will be held from October 8th to October 13th, 2024, at BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) in Mumbai.

Following the overwhelming success of the 2022 and 2023 Durga Puja celebrations, the excitement is now at an all-time high this year. Rituparna has unveiled a grand plan to bring the splendor of Kolkata’s Durga Puja and the enthusiasm of Dussehra to Mumbai.

Film ‘Main Meri Patni Aur Woh’ fame actor has had a huge repertoire of hits and awards to her credits, including National award & Filmfare award for her work in Bengali, Odiya, and Hindi Cinema. She has worked with eminent directors including David Dhawan, Priyadarshan, Madhur Bhandarkar and many more. She has been juggling between Bengali films in Kolkata and in Bollywood while basking in the success of her recent super-hit Bengali film ‘Ajogya’.

Speaking about the event, Rituparna stated, “Following the immense success of Durga Puja over the past two years, I collaborated with MBCA this year to expand its scope nationally. We are including Garba, Dhunuchi dance, and various other cultural programmes from across India. Our primary goal for this event is to showcase diverse cultures through the event. It promises to be the highlight of the year, uniting communities under one roof and fostering a sense of home, akin to the largest national festival of the year.”

Founder-Directors of MBCA, Sanjay Kolkatawala & Niladri Roy mentioned, “We are excited to announce that our event is expanding to a larger theme and venue this year. This year, our theme is inspired by the phrase, ‘unity in diversity’ where we are dedicated to promoting Indian art, culture, and heritage on a grander scale. This event will highlight the uniqueness of India through exhibition stalls, food courts, and cultural programs. The celebration will be open to everyone who wishes to attend and enjoy with their loved ones.”

Mumbai is preparing for an event where tradition meets grandeur. Prominent guests, including Dharmendra, Anupam Kher, Mouni Roy, Alka Yagnik, Anu Malik, former Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, among others, have graced the event in previous years. Rituparna hopes for continued support this year.
