Varun Dhawan and Shoojit Sircar teamed up for “October”

With its unusual name, Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor  Varun Dhawan and ‘Piku’ and ‘Pink’ fame director Shoojit Sircar are teamed up for  their unusual love story October.

Varun Dhawan who is still shooting for Judwaa 2, has got a new addition in his kitty from none other than Shoojit Sircar. Varun took to his social handle to disclose the title of the film and its called ‘October”.

In the photo shared by Varun, we see him discussing the script of the film with the ace director. Along with the picture, Varun wrote, “I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit da’s work and have always wanted to work with him. The film is titled October. Soojit da Ronnie and Juhi have always made good cinema I am very lucky to get a chance to work with them.”

This will be the first time that Varun will be collaborating with Shoojit. Talking about it during the promotions of Badrinath Ki Dulhania, the actor said, “I wanted to work with Shoojit Sircar after watching Vicky Donor and Piku. Finally, it is happening. I like his narration and the shoot will start after Judwaa 2.”

This is like a dream come true for Varun Dhawan who has bagged his next film which is going to be directed by Shoojit Sircar. Shoojit has initially given us some brilliant movies like Piku and Pink and now, he is all set to cast Varun in his next film titled October. Varun, who is more than overwhelmed to have taken up this project took to Instagram to make the big announcement. “I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit da’s work and have always wanted to work with him. Soojit da Ronnie and Juhi have always made good cinema Im very lucky to get a chance to work with them,” Varun captioned a picture he’s shared on Insta with the ace film maker.

The production is set to begin this September.The movie also brings back Shoojit Sircar’s dream team of writer Juhi Chaturvedi and co-producer Ronnie Lahiri after “Vicky Donor” and “Piku”

Shoojit Sircar, who grew up in Delhi and is familiar with the city like the back of his hands, said he always wanted to explore the concept of love in one of his films. So like Piku and Pink Delhi will play an important role in October as well.

Varun Dhawan and Shoojit Sircar were already in discussion about a possible collaboration and this story seemed like a natural fit for the actor.

While sharing his excitement to a National Daily Shoojit says”I remember meeting Varun Dhawan at my office and while we were having tea I realised that he would be perfect for the story that I was writing with Juhi Chaturvedi.

After he left, I called Juhi Chaturvedi and asked whether she had ever met Varun Dhawan.

She told me that his name had cropped up in her mind as well.

“I immediately called him back to narrate the idea as I did not know how he would react. But he was also looking for something unusual,” Shoojit Sircar said.

The leading lady against Varun Dhawan for October is yet to be finalised but producer Ronnie Lahiri, who runs Rising Sun Films with Shoojit Sircar, hopes to release the film sometime early next year.
