Young and talented actor Atharva Sawant takes us through his fitness journey preparation for Adah Sharma starrer ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’, read details Featured Funtainment by Akanksha - February 17, 20240 Atharva Sawant is one actor who doesn’t like to set limits for himself when it comes to his performing arts. It’s always an admirable quality if you are someone who’s truly willing to give his all to make the character come alive and these attributes of Atharva have helped him come a long way in his career. From starting his acting journey with theatre and ad films to now getting a big opportunity to work alongside the fantastic Adah Sharma in ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’, the journey has truly been incredible and amazing for him. While a lot of his expertise and experience from a theatre background helped him get a grip over his character, a lot of fitness transformation was also required at his end to get things going. Fitness transformations are always difficult and even in Atharva’s case, it is no different. On being asked about the kind of exhaustive fitness routine that he had to undergo, Atharva shares for us and we quote, “As far as my gym routine is concerned, a lot of things needed to be changed for Bastar: The Naxal Story to match up with the adivasi vibe. I was given a brief by my director and accordingly, I worked on the required aspects. Since I go to the gym regularly, I was quite buffed up and all. However, I had to tone down my muscles and lose a bit of my muscle weight so that I rightfully look like a local village boy. My preparation for the role was primarily about doing my cardiovascular exercises and dance rehearsals. I stopped doing strength or muscle-building training from my end. I had about 20 days to get things going before we started rolling and I lost about 6 kg muscle weight which I maintained throughout the film. So that was all about my gym regime for this.” Well, kudos to Atharva for actually pushing himself beyond limits and doing justice to the faith entrusted upon him by the director and the makers of the film. Here’s wishing him great luck and success so that he continues to grow as an artiste and shine professionally with Bastar: The Naxal Story and all his other future endeavours. The movie is set to release in cinemas on 15th March, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
